The Kings Creek dredging project is progressing favorably, with significant improvements noted at the north end of the beach. However, it has required a greater volume of sand than initially anticipated to fully restore the northern half of the beach. Consequently, the project’s total coverage area is now expected to primarily extend southward to the Monroe Avenue entrance.
This encompasses the section of beach that was previously closed and the segment that required the most extensive replenishment. As a result, it is unlikely that any additional beach closures will be necessary south of the Monroe Avenue entrance in connection with this project. The contractor remains on schedule to complete the entire scope of work during the week of October 30th.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to continue using all beach areas that remain accessible without disruption.
