This business-in-the-front, party-in-the-back style has been around way before it was popularized by actors and rock stars in the 1980’s. The mullet is indeed coming back in 2022, however, with a modern twist. This time around, it’s all about embracing natural texture, adding fun colors, and rocking more structured yet alternative shapes.
As the film, Joe Dirt examined, the relative ease of maintaining it makes it possible to keep up even without the existence of barbershops and hair salons, and the practicality makes it perhaps one of the greatest haircuts in human history. The Mullet is awesome in every way, and to prove it, we have some of this year’s finalists from the Youth Mullet Championship (we picked the kids with the coolest names, except William who has a dull name, but awesome mullet):
