EXMORE: One of the region’s most in-demand musical groups, the HM Johnson Band will bring their big sounds to the Exmore Town Park on Thursday, June 6, as part of Exmore’s 2nd Annual Town Social, a free community event open to everyone, from 6 – 9 pm.
The Town Social kicks off a full summer of events for Exmore’s centerpiece park and serves as a thank you tribute to the Town’s residents. As part of that tribute, Mayor Greer, vice-mayor Tommy Lewis and members of the Town Council will be manning tongs at the steam table, handing out free hot dogs to children under 12, while the supply lasts. Expect additional treats and surprises, including cornhole and other games, provided by members of the Exmore Police Department, and the Exmore Fire Department.
“We’re planning an old-fashioned, wholesome good time for all ages,” said Mayor Greer. “Exmore still values the authentic Eastern Shore of Virginia lifestyle many of us experienced growing up, with multi-generational community gatherings centered on family, friends and neighbors.”
The HM Johnson Bank, an established trio with multiple recorded hits, has opened for legends like BB King and the Temptations. Widely known for their talents in delivering both original and cover songs ranging from smooth jazz and the Blues to R&B and reggae, the band takes the stage at 7:00 pm.
“The Exmore Town Social is open to the entire ESVA—and it’s free,” said Mayor Greer. “We invite you to come early and explore Exmore’s restaurants and downtown business district. Get to know us.”
