Reedville’s Omega Protein, the nation’s largest menhaden processing operation, has been under fire for its fishing practices inside the Chesapeake Bay. Here on the Eastern Shore, the fish spills sent dead menhaden onto our beaches.
Omega’s fishing partners, Ocean Harvesters have actively been working the problem. They just debuted the first “fish spill response vessel”.
