ONLEY, Va. – Congresswoman Elaine Luria (VA-02) on Tuesday held an open house event in Onley and took questions from more than 60 Eastern Shore constituents in attendance, addressing topics ranging from climate change to infrastructure to health care.
Congresswoman Luria and her team were on hand at the Onley Town Center to meet with Eastern Shore residents and distribute information about how her office can help constituents. After providing a brief update on Washington, Congresswoman Luria opened the floor to questions, answering inquiries for around 30 minutes.
“One of the best things about representing the Eastern Shore is the thoughtfulness of our community,” Congresswoman Luria said. “More than 60 residents came out on a beautiful Tuesday night and asked insightful questions about a range of important federal issues. I am honored to be a voice in Washington for the hardworking people of the Eastern Shore.”
Congresswoman Luria’s event culminated a busy day on the Eastern Shore, during which she spoke at the Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce’s Eggs n’ Issues Breakfast, participated in several tours related to the local aquaculture, and visited Brownsville Preserve.
Today Congresswoman Luria will be participating in a town hall in Melfa with Senator Mark Warner and visiting other local landmarks, including Chincoteague National Wildlife Reserve and NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility. Earlier this morning, Congresswoman Luria toured Dublin Farms and met with leaders of the Eastern Shore agricultural community.
