Beginning in 2007, the Cape Charles proposed a Community Trail Network that links Cape Charles residents and visitors to the town’s many destinations. It also links to and incorporates the bicycle and trail recommendations of
adjacent localities and planning district commissions.
With Phase I & II in the books, Phase III plans have been reviewed and sent to VDOT for approval.
Phase III, which incorporates most of South Peach Street has been the most contentious. Phase III travels through a relatively mature local neighborhood. Changes to the roadway, median, and sidewalks was met with stakeholder complaints and pushback.
In response, the town came up with a Revised Low-Impact Phase 3 Proposed Plan that took into account the public input and desires of the local residents.

Below are images of current plans submitted to VDOT. These plans are very large and do not translate well to this platform; it is recommended for those interested to visit the actual plans held at the town hall on 14 Plum Street.
