Science and Philosophy Seminar of the Eastern Shore of Virginia has scheduled its next seminar, “The Metrology Revolution of 2019.” The free 90-minute seminar will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday, May 10 in the Lecture Hall of the Eastern Shore Community College, 29300 Lankford Hwy, Melfa, VA 23410.
Larry Hudson will talk about why on May 20, World Metrology Day, the world will celebrate how research into new measurement methods, including those using quantum phenomena, will reinforce and underpin the International System of Units. This talk is registered as a World Metrology Day Event.
Hudson is a quantum metrologist at the National Institute of Standards & Technology, headquartered in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
