Despite what the calendar says, summer is here and dogs are not permitted on the beach between 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM from May 1 through Labor Day.
Dogs are not permitted to be on the fishing pier from May 1 through Labor Day.
The town urges everyone to scoop their dog’s poop. That can be an unpleasant surprise for anyone. There are a number of doggie waste stations along the boardwalk which contain bags to scoop the poop.
The fine for not picking up after your dog is up to $250 per incident.
Dogs must remain on a leash or other physical restraint or have an electronic collar at all times in the Town of Cape Charles.
Note: Dogs are also not allowed on the fishing pier at any time.
