VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – On Saturday, Rep. Elaine Luria (D-VA) joined elected officials, Navy officials, Newport News shipyard employees, veterans, and aircraft carrier suppliers from across the United States for the keel laying of CVN 80, the USS Enterprise.
Luria also attended the Tidewater Ukrainian Cultural Association and Tidewater Ukrainian School’s Ukrainian Independence Day celebration in Virginia Beach.
As an aside, since it just happened, as a fellow combat veteran, I wonder how SUPER-PATRIOT Elaine Luria, a crusty, battle-hardened, salty old sea-dog in the mold of real fighting admirals like “BULL” Halsey, damn the torpedos, full speed ahead, who constantly reminds us of her oath to the Constitution, as if we would not know what our own meant, and wraps herself up in the flag and wears it like a Roman toga with the grace and elegance Julius Caesar was said to lend to the garment, taking care to see it was properly arranged even as he was being hacked to death by some angry Roman senators, would think about Joe Biden using members of the Marine Corps band as political props at a Biden political rally, as we see in the following Fox News article titled “Biden unsettles Marine Band members by campaigning for Democrats at official event where they played” by Houston Keene on 31 August 2022, to wit:
EXCLUSIVE: President Biden unsettled members of the U.S. Marine Band when he campaigned for Democrats at an official White House event where they played, a source familiar with the inner workings of the band told Fox News Digital.
On Tuesday, Biden visited the Keystone State with the Marine Band in tow for an event where he promoted Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro and Lieutenant Governor John Fetterman as they seek higher offices in this fall’s midterm elections.
“Presumptuous of me to say that.”
“But think about doing me a favor.”
“Please, please elect the attorney general to the Senate.”
“Elect that big ol’ boy to be governor,” Biden said, mixing up which offices the two Democrats are seeking.
“I was unaware active duty service members can wear the uniform at political rallies.”
“Ask Defense Secretary Austin if there is an exception to that regulation for Democrat campaign events,” the source familiar with the band’s inner workings told Fox News Digital.
“Anyone with eyes to see knows that the Marine Corps just gave an in-kind contribution to Pennsylvania Democrats before the midterm elections,” the source continued.
“And they’ll do so again on Thursday in Philadelphia.”
When asked for comment on the band members’ reaction to the president’s actions, the Department of Defense (DOD) pointed Fox News Digital to the White House, which did not provide a comment to Fox News Digital.
Mike Chamberlain, director of government watchdog Protect the Public’s Trust (PPT), told Fox News Digital it’s “never a good look for the President, or any other government official, to appear to use taxpayer resources for partisan campaign purposes.”
“However, the President and Vice President are specifically exempted from the Hatch Act, the law which restricts federal employees’ engagement in partisan political activity,” Chamberlain said regarding the president’s stumping.
“Regardless of whether there’s an official violation, we at Protect the Public’s Trust believe that officials should be held to the same standards regardless of party or ideology and would hope that the activities of President Biden are held to the same level of scrutiny as those of any of his predecessors,” he continued.
Democrats criticized Trump in 2020 for making election-related remarks during a White House event where the band played.

Perhaps the good congresswoman can pen her reply and get it into the next episode of the CAPE CHARLES MIRROR so we fellow combat veterans of hers, who find this use of members of the Marine Corps as political props, as if they support Joe Biden, to be obscene, can know where she stands on the issue before the November mid-terms.
Will she, being a loyal Pelosi Democrat, come out in support of Joe Biden using uniformed members of the United States Marine Corps as political props, pointing to his role in the Constitution she says she supports as commander-in-chief, which means he gets to do anything with those Marines that he wants to, since he is their commander-in-chief, and he is exempt from the law, citing Democrat LBJ’s similar usage of Marines in VEET NAM to do his personal bidding, as the precedent?
Or will she get some spine and stand up to Joe, telling him that he is way over the line using American service members as his personal toys?
Stay tuned!
Time will tell.
And my goodness, people, how can a SUPER-PATRIOT like Virginia’s own Elaine Luria, herself a crusty, battle-hardened, salty old sea-dog in the mold of real fighting admirals like “BULL” Halsey, damn the torpedos, full speed ahead, who constantly reminds us of her oath to the Constitution, as if we would not know what our own meant, and wraps herself up in the flag and wears it like a Roman toga with the grace and elegance Julius Caesar was said to lend to the garment, taking care to see it was properly arranged even as he was being hacked to death by some angry Roman senators, remain silent after the lurid spectacle Thursday night in Philadelphia when Joe Biden was once again using uniformed members of the United States Marine Corps as political props at a Biden political rally, while Joe ranted and raved and foamed at the mouth, excoriating the 88% of the American people who don’t agree with the direction he and the Democrats like Elaine Luria, who during a recent campaign rally in Virginia Beach declared “thank God we elected Joe Biden and Kamala Harris,” claiming “they’ve done so many good things,” are taking this country, as we see in the following Daily Mail article titled “Biden is in damage control after demonizing half of America’s voters” by Jonathan Bronitsky on 2 September 2022, to wit:
Dr. Jonathan Bronitsky served as U.S. Attorney General William P. Barr’s Chief Speechwriter and Senior Advisor at the U.S. Department of Justice
Less than 24-hours after delivering the darkest, most toxic presidential speech of the modern era, the Commander in Chief is trying to gaslight America to believe he didn’t say what it just heard him say.
‘C’mon, look guys, I don’t consider any Trump supporter a threat to the country,’ he told reporters Friday.
‘When people voted for Donald Trump – and support him now – they weren’t voting for attacking the Capitol.’
‘They weren’t voting for overruling the election.’
‘They were going for a philosophy he put forward.’
Let’s roll the tape back.
Here’s what the president asserted Thursday evening outside Philadelphia’s Independence Hall, which the White House advance team transformed into a scene straight out of Hostel – complete with blood-red uplighting and shadowed figures in the background.
The stage’s backdrop looked more like the demonic spawn pool of Satan rather than the patriotic birthplace of our republic.
‘Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our Republic.’
He continued, ‘MAGA forces are determined to take this country backwards – backwards to an America where there is no right to choose, no right to privacy, no right to contraception, no right to marry who you love.’
Biden was not talking about a narrow slice of the Republican Party there. He was clearly referring to – and slandering – a major portion of the country that believes in the sanctity of life and steadfastly honors the traditional morality that has made America exceptional.
This wasn’t a slip of the tongue.
Biden was reading prepared marks, approved at multiple levels, that perfectly echoed the rhetoric of his administration.
In Philadelphia, however, Biden wasn’t demonizing elected officials.
He was taking square aim at regular citizens.
Again, this was not an instance of uttering the quiet part out loud.
What we’re currently witnessing is a desperate – and what will ultimately prove – a futile attempt at damage control.
Biden spewed what his few supporters craved – a partisan oration designed to gin up emotion ahead of the midterms.
And now, he – or someone else over at 1600 Pennsylvania – deeply regrets the prime-time appearance.
If last night’s 24-minute oration were judged as nothing more than a stump speech, objectively, it probably succeeded, at least for the small number of people who bothered to switch over from the opening of college football season.
As an address to the nation as a whole, intended to start bridging divides and save democracy, it was a Kabul-sized catastrophe.
And there’s no walking back from that.

Why the silence from Elaine Luria about this political usage by Joe Biden of uniformed members of the Marine Corps, who were the “shadowed figures” in the background in a scene in Philadelphia on Thursday night straight out of Hostel – complete with blood-red uplighting, which had the stage’s backdrop where the Marines were stationed, as if they were there to support Joe Biden, looking more like the demonic spawn pool of Satan rather than the patriotic birthplace of our republic?
Is she afraid of Joe Biden’s wrath if she goes against him?
Stay tuned.
