  1. Sounds like the cancel culture is trying to look righteous by joining forces with PETA while showing no respect for the price of goods, the cost of alternative methods of harvesting, the possible negative environmental affects, and the danger to human life.
So what else is new ?
As in, now coconut plantation owners will need many exhaust belching hydraulically assisted bucket machines, and a new maintenance dept. to maintain the machines in order to harvest and supply. How else can they lift a human up there to pick the coconuts? Those plantation owners all have safes full of money to buy dozens of machines, right ? None will go out of business for lack of cash, and there are plenty of expert mechanics around to maintain the machines, right ?
Do they have to build a maintenance dept and building to house it all ?
Because of The Paris Accord we all know Thailand strictly complies so all those machines will be brand new and the cleanest running machines available with virtually no exhaust. hmmmmm…….
The hydraulic hoses and pumps will all be brand new so there will never be hydraulic failure with the bucket crashing to the ground with gallons of hydraulic oil spilling all over the place.
Don’t forget there was a human being in that bucket that just crashed 30-60 feet. How bad is the injury ?
Well, PETA doesn’t care. Only monkey lives matter.
How much is a coconut now ? $4-$6 ? What do you think will happen to their cost ? What will that do to the number of coconuts that will now sell in our stores ?What will that reduced # help ? Commerce in the stores ? Or is this a conspiracy to move a different fruit into that dept created by a rival fruit co ?
To tell you the truth, I have never purchased a coconut, so it’s not really my concern. Just an exercise in the fact that for every action there is a reaction.
If I was to think about it though, I wouldn’t be surprised if the folks at PETA were convinced to start this whole movement by someone who has the inside track for selling used hydraulic bucket machines to Thailand.
    Follow the money ?
