Pet of the Week-Sweet Kiya Needs a Home

November 13, 2022 by Wayne Creed Leave a Comment

Hi I am Kiya, and I’m still looking for my new home and family. I am an 11 months old female and am surely a mix of Belgian Shepherd (Malinois) and German Shepherd (based on a sibling’s DNA test) and probably some other fun breeds as well!

The staff here at the shelter jokingly say I resemble a “Greyhound” with my lanky legs and body stature, I weigh in just around 40lbs.

I am super smart and with my youth I am full of energy, but with attention and exercise, I calm right down and relax. I know a couple commands and am a sucker for treats.

I might do okay with cats as I seem to be interested in the ones here at the Shelter. I also do well with other dogs. Though I will do well with children, I am able to jump to any height and may not do well with smaller children as I may be able to knock them over without intent. Older children should be fine.

I am looking for someone who has the time and energy to spend with me and I am hoping to find that forever home.

If you think you may be interested in meeting sweet Kiya, you can visit the shelter Tuesday-Saturday 10a.m. until 2:30p.m. for a kennel walk through and grab an application there, or call 757-787-7385 with any questions.

You can also email us at shorespca@gmail.com and request an application be attached and sent back to you. Or print one out on our website at www.shorespca.com
