In honor of Veterans Day, the municipal offices in Cape Charles will be closed on November 10th in observance of Veterans Day. This annual observance pays tribute to the brave men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces, acknowledging their sacrifices and contributions to our nation’s security and freedom.
Veterans Day, originally known as Armistice Day, was established to commemorate the end of World War I and to honor the veterans who fought in that conflict. In 1954, the holiday was officially renamed Veterans Day to extend recognition to all American veterans, past and present.
