The Town of Cape Charles is preparing to publicly unveil the results of its 2025 Community Strategic Plan Citizen Survey, following strong participation from residents, business owners, and visitors.
According to town officials, the survey generated 426 responses, offering a broad cross-section of community feedback intended to help guide future planning and policy decisions. The Mayor and Town Council issued a joint statement thanking participants for their engagement, noting that the level of response reflects a high degree of civic pride and commitment to the town’s long-term success.
“We are extremely fortunate to have citizens with this level of commitment to making Cape Charles the best that it can be,” the statement read.
Town staff have compiled the survey data — including written public comments — into a comprehensive report. The findings are scheduled to be presented to the Town Council on February 19 during a work session that will immediately follow the Council’s regular meeting.
Officials said the presentation will outline key themes, priorities, and community concerns identified through the survey process, forming a foundation for the town’s updated Community Strategic Plan.
To ensure public accessibility, the February 19 work session will be streamed live on the Town’s Facebook and YouTube platforms. Following the meeting, both the video recording and the full survey report will be posted on the Town of Cape Charles website for residents who are unable to attend or watch in real time.

Participation in the survey was so low that it had to be extended, and at the last town hall it was suggested that board members send it out to people they personally knew. That doesn’t suggest a comprehensive or representative data set. Did anyone ask the residents at Myrtle Landing? as some of those questions on the survey directly affect us. I don’t think so, I found it by complete accident the day of the first deadline.
