CAPE CHARLES, Va. — The Cape Charles Police Department handled a wide range of calls last week, including vehicle lockouts, water incidents, and public safety concerns.
According to the department’s weekly report, officers conducted routine building checks, issued traffic summonses, addressed code violations, and performed foot patrols around town.
Among the incidents reported were two separate 911 hang-ups, two welfare checks, and multiple calls to assist EMS. Police also responded to reports of subjects on the jetty, a person in distress, drinking in public, and a hit-and-run.
Other calls included a domestic disturbance, a noise complaint, a disabled vehicle, and two cases of assisting citizens. Officers also addressed a dog left in a car, assisted the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office, and responded to a vehicle assault.
Water-related safety was a recurring theme, with three separate water incident calls.
Police also investigated a stolen golf cart and responded to a report of a golf cart being driven in a 55-mph zone.
The department’s report underscores the variety of calls officers address each week, ranging from routine patrols to urgent emergencies on land and water.
