Cape Charles – The Town of Cape Charles mourns the passing of William Powell, a dedicated public servant and valued member of our community.
Mr. Powell faithfully served the Town of Cape Charles for 33 years, most recently as Utility Maintenance Manager, before continuing his service with Virginia American Water following the transition of the Town’s utilities in April 2024.

A Memorial Service to honor Mr. Powell’s life and service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 8th, at the Cape Charles Fire Station.
The Town extends its deepest condolences to Mr. Powell’s family, friends, and all who had the privilege of working alongside him. His dedication and kindness leave a lasting legacy in Cape Charles.
