ONANCOCK, Va. — The Cokesbury Cultural Center will continue its free concert series Saturday, Oct. 10, with an evening of rarely heard 17th-century music featuring Tim and Judy Olbrych and cellist Ryan Lowe.
The program, “A Pilgrim’s Delight: Songs Sacred and Savage,” will begin at 7 p.m. at the Cokesbury Cultural Center, 13 Market Street in Onancock.
The concert will feature music for Baroque guitar, soprano and cello, offering Eastern Shore audiences an opportunity to hear works drawn from the musical world of the 17th century.
The program includes compositions by English Renaissance and early Baroque composer John Dowland, Italian composer Giovanni Antonio Rigatti and French composer François Le Cocq, along with popular songs exploring themes of life, love and the pilgrim’s journey.
Tim and Judy Olbrych will be joined for the performance by cellist Ryan Lowe. Together, the musicians will explore a repertoire that combines sacred and secular traditions while highlighting the distinctive sound of period-inspired music.
The concert is part of Cokesbury Cultural Center’s free concert series. Admission is free, and donations are welcome.
