Delegate Rob Bloxom has secured another term representing Virginia’s 100th District, defeating Democratic challenger Liz Richardson with 55% of the vote to Richardson’s 45%, according to preliminary results. The totals include early voting, though precinct-by-precinct reports are expected to be updated later today.
Bloxom, first elected in 2014 after Delegate Lynwood Lewis vacated the seat to join the Virginia Senate, has maintained strong support on the Eastern Shore through multiple election cycles. His latest victory underscores continued Republican strength in the rural coastal district, even as some statewide races saw closer margins.
In Accomack County, Republican candidates performed well across the ballot. For Lieutenant Governor, Winsome Earle-Sears received 7,044 votes to 5,869 for Democrat Abigail Spanberger. In the Attorney General race, Jason Miyares led with 7,422 votes, while Jay Jones received 5,428. For Lieutenant Governor, John Reid won 7,263 votes compared to 5,603 for Hashni.
Results were more competitive in Northampton County, where Democrats held a narrow edge. Spanberger led Earle-Sears 3,033 to 2,452, and Hashni topped Reid 2,875 to 2,564. Jones also won the county’s Attorney General tally with 2,774 votes to Miyares’ 2,629.
Combined, the results reflect the Eastern Shore’s split political landscape — with Accomack maintaining a strong Republican base and Northampton continuing to lean Democratic.
