Public praises cleaner facilities, helpful staff in latest harbor report
CAPE CHARLES, Va. — Cape Charles Harbor is earning high marks from visiting boaters, according to recent public feedback included in the town’s latest harbor report.
One repeat visitor called the improvements “outstanding,” noting significant upgrades since past seasons.
“We have been coming for a few years now and were so pleasantly surprised at all the improvements!” the guest wrote. “The bathrooms in past years were not clean and not very desirable so I always showered on the boat. This time however, I decided to give them a try and OMG what a fantastic experience! Absolutely perfect!”
The visitor also praised the marina’s customer service, highlighting the dockmaster and staff for their hospitality and assistance.
“The dockmaster who met us at our slip to help with lines could not have been more helpful and pleasant, as well as the staff who helped us get fuel,” they wrote. “This marina deserves applaud and [we are] looking forward to our return! THANK YOU!”
Town officials said the feedback reflects a continued investment in harbor infrastructure and services aimed at improving the experience for transient boaters and seasonal slip holders.
Cape Charles Harbor has been undergoing phased upgrades, including facility renovations, dock maintenance, and enhanced customer service training for marina staff.
More updates are expected as the summer boating season continues.
I am a new boat owner and have a slip at the marina, I agree completely everyone including dock master could not be more accommodating or helpful.
Truly a wonderful experience.
