Cape Charles’ popular fishing pier is received much-needed repairs as crews worked to remove old, rotted wood and upgrade the structural integrity of the waterfront feature. The project, overseen by the Town of Cape Charles Public Works Department, replaced deteriorated deck boards and reinforce underlying support beams that have weathered years of coastal conditions.
Workers temporarily sectioned off areas of the pier while they removed weakened materials and installed new lumber designed to withstand heavy use and harsh saltwater environments. By securing the structure now, town officials say they are protecting a beloved recreational space for generations of anglers, sightseers, and sunset watchers.
The refreshed pier will be ready for fishing, crabbing, and scenic strolls as Cape Charles moves into another year of waterfront adventures.
