The Town of Cape Charles is looking for an individual to perform various maintenance activities for town buildings, grounds and equipment including but not limited to sanitation, painting, mowing and minor carpentry projects. Requires heavy manual labor and operation of power tools and equipment such as tractors, chippers and backhoes.
Previous maintenance experience and mechanical abilities preferred.
Must have the ability to follow written and oral direction and be able to work weekends and holidays as needed. High school diploma or GED, a valid Virginia Driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
Applicant must pass a pre-employment drug screening, be physically fit and capable to lift up to 50 pounds regularly. Starting salary $10-12 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
