CAPE CHARLES, Va. — The Cape Charles Library continues to be a hub of community activity, with an array of programs and services catering to all ages and interests.
During the week of March 8th, a total of 255 individuals visited the library, indicating a steady flow of community members utilizing its resources and offerings. Furthermore, the circulation of library materials remained robust, with 444 items being circulated over the same period.
The library fostered various initiatives and events. Staff members actively participated in meetings with the Friends of Cape Charles Library (CCML) and the Eastern Shore Public Library (ESPL) manager, emphasizing collaboration and partnership within the community.
The library prioritized the rehoming of used and worn items, ensuring a refreshed and relevant selection for patrons. Additionally, staff reviewed upcoming book releases and ordered 39 new items to enrich the library’s offerings.
Visitors to the library were greeted with nwq book displays, including themes celebrating St. Patrick’s Day, Women’s History Month, an upcoming solar eclipse, and a Sea Glass display generously provided by D. Sullivan. The library also hosted a special story time with local author Nan Carlton-Mosteller, drawing in 12 attendees.
Looking ahead, the library is gearing up for an exciting lineup of events and programs. Noteworthy upcoming events include a Storytime and craft session on March 12th, an Inflatable Planetarium event at the YMCA on March 20th, and a showing of “Seabiscuit” at the Historic Palace Theatre on March 30th as part of the Town Wide Read event.
