On 2/15/24 there was a very serious motor vehicle accident in the Bay Creek community. A vehicle hit a tree at a high rate of speed. The person was airlifted to the hospital with very serious injuries. The Mirror has attempted to get details on the crash but only received notice of warrants being issued this week.

The incident, which took place within the confines of Bay Creek Resort, prompted law enforcement officials to take action in issuing warrants against the individuals involved.
Additionally, the town noted that life-saving procedures were administered to the driver immediately following the incident. According to the town, due to the nature of these procedures, a blood alcohol level test was not administered at the scene or the hospital. The town told the Mirror that even tests conducted at the hospital may yield unreliable results.

For further inquiries or information related to the incident, individuals are advised to contact the Cape Charles Police Department.
“According to the town, due to the nature of these procedures, a blood alcohol level test was not administered at the scene or the hospital. The town told the Mirror that even tests conducted at the hospital may yield unreliable results.”
This statement doesn’t pass the proverbial sniff test. Given the apparent circumstances of this accident the blood tests taken at the hospital should have been requested and additional charges filed, or not, based on those test results. To suggest that blood tests taken in the hospital (done within hours of an accident) could be unreliable is grossly irresponsible at best.
They didn’t want alcohol to be the blame because it wouldn’t look good on the rich w(h)ine-os.
