CAPE CHARLES, Va. — Town officials in Cape Charles are reminding dog owners of seasonal restrictions on beach and fishing pier access as the summer season approaches.
Under Town Code Section 22-321(a)(4), dogs are prohibited from the beach between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. from May 1 through Labor Day. The fishing pier is also off-limits to dogs from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. during the same period.

For those who visit with their dogs during permitted hours, officials urge owners to pick up after their pets, using the dog waste stations along the boardwalk. Failure to do so can result in a fine of up to $250 per incident.
Additionally, dogs throughout the town must remain on a leash, physical restraint, or electronic collar at all times.
They keep “reminding”. How about ticketing or fining instead. Reminding them is just a warning. You know they are gonna defy the rules anyway. Especially since there’s no beach security and no cops ever walk the beat anymore. #TicketsForTurds Let’s get it done.
Also let’s get some bicycle popo in town.
