CAPE CHARLES, Va.— The Town of Cape Charles has scheduled public hearings for a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) application submitted by Jon Dempster for property located at 109 Mason Avenue. The proposal seeks approval to install a six-foot fence to screen three propane tanks planned for placement near the handicapped access door facing Mason Avenue.
The property, identified as Tax Map #83A3-2-1-62, is located in the Commercial-1 Zoning District. The Planning Commission and Town Council will each hold public hearings to gather community feedback before making a decision on the application.
The hearings will take place at the Cape Charles Civic Center, 500 Tazewell Avenue, on the following dates:
- Planning Commission: Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at 6:00 p.m.
- Town Council: Thursday, February 6, 2025, at 6:00 p.m.
Residents can review the application online at www.capecharles.org. The Planning Department encourages public participation and welcomes inquiries via phone at (757) 331-2036 or email at planner@capecharles.org.
And what’s wrong with putting them around the backside? They should also be required to have there own dumpster/disposal on their own property like they used to, instead of behind the library.
This is a joke right? A public hearing to cover some gas tanks
