Cape Charles, VA — Cape Charles Harbor is set to undergo enhancements with the installation of new wells and a modern lifeboat and davit system, according to recent developments announced by the Town of Cape Charles.
Plans to install two shallow wells at the Town Harbor have been reviewed, aiming to provide watermen with a more efficient alternative for pressure washing their gear. The initiative aims to reduce the usage of potable water for this purpose, promoting sustainability and conservation efforts within the community.
Following the review of plans and quotations, the Town of Cape Charles has given the green light to Bundick to proceed with the shallow well work.
Meanwhile, the Maritime Institute has initiated work on installing a modern lifeboat and davit system within the inner harbor. This system is designed to enhance safety measures and provide training opportunities for mariners navigating the waters of Cape Charles Harbor.
