Improper notice filed against Hampton Roads Sanitation District

September 20, 2020 by Wayne Creed 1 Comment

Improper notice plus arguments against HRSD have been filed int Northampton.  Ken Dufty filed with both Courts, hand-delivered to Northampton Clerk yesterday, and mailed to Accomack Court Thursday

Dufty points out in the filing, that after years of in-depth study, the town of Exmore has concluded that going with HRSD to manage our solid waste could cost ratepayers in the town more than $80/month, plus water and trash.  Those costs could rise 9% each year for the first 4, then 7 for the next for, then 6 per year after that.

Exmore concluded that HRSD is too expensive and the town would lose control of its waste stream and billing.

Smart decision Mr. Dufty. Out of control costs cannot be accepted. Not to mention that the HRSD does not have the best of reputations for conducting business that runs smoothly and has no problems. Keep them across the bay.
