Medical Examiner’s Autopsy Reveals George Floyd Had Positive Test For Coronavirus
June 4, 20206:27 AM ET
Scott Neuman
A full autopsy report on George Floyd, the man who died after being restrained by Minneapolis police last month, reveals that he was positive for SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. The 20-page report also indicates that Floyd had fentanyl and methamphetamine in his system at the time of his death, although the drugs are not listed as the cause.
The autopsy report from Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office concludes the cause of death was “cardiopulmonary arrest complicating law enforcement subdual, restraint, and neck compression.”
That conclusion, death due to heart failure, differs from the one reached by an independent examiner hired by the Floyd family; that report listed the cause of death as “asphyxiation from sustained pressure.”

New court docs say George Floyd had “fatal level” of fentanyl in his system
Author: Lou Raguse

MINNEAPOLIS — New documents filed in the George Floyd case give new information about the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s findings in Floyd’s autopsy.
Handwritten notes of a law enforcement interview with Dr. Andrew Baker, the Hennepin County Medical Examiner, say Floyd had 11 ng/mL of fentanyl in his system.
“If he were found dead at home alone and no other apparent causes, this could be acceptable to call an OD.”
“Deaths have been certified with levels of 3,” Baker told investigators.
In another new document, Baker said, “That is a fatal level of fentanyl under normal circumstances.”
But then Baker added, “I am not saying this killed him.”
Defense attorneys for the officers have signaled they will argue Floyd died from the drugs and pre-existing health conditions.
The new documents say Floyd had a “heavy heart” and “at least one artery was approximately 75% blocked.”
MJM says
Not sure a previous o.d. can even be mentioned in court. There may very well be no legal relevance. Then again, find the recordings of George Floyd’s complete arrest on the internet. Approximately 25 minutes before he was restrained with a knee to the head and neck, he was not restrained in the back seat of the patrol car and clearly complaining that he could not breath. One of the first symptoms of consumption of too much fentanyl is the inability to breath. What killed him ? I don’t now. Were the officers sucked into the perfect storm of the end of his life ? What a mess, and the press surely mess it all worse for everyone.
Paul Plante says
That is the point the state trooper, who himself has had experience with fentanyl overdoses, a fairly common occurrence these days up this way, along with heroin, was making.
Jane McKinley says
Nobody said he was a law abiding citizen. First of all, why did the system let him down by not intervening to help with his drug / mental health problem? Especially as a repeat offender, this should have raised red flags. Secondly, did the consequences fit the crime? Being smothered to death while he was crying for help for a minor misdemeanor? I think not.
With the accusation that he was high on fentanyl and how this may or may not have played into his death is for the courts to decide. But it was plain to see that he was aggressively restrained for an extended period of time, even after he stopped resisting.
Note: Latest, Mr. Floyd was also a police informant (snitch). There’s a lot starting to line up.
tokenny says
What does being an informant have anything to do with what happened to him? What does anything in his past have to do with what happened to him?
Tammy Parks says
Easy. This was taught to me when I was old enough to listen:
‘Snitches always get stitches.’
Period.
tokenny says
What an asinine response.
Tammy Parks says
Please explain
Paul Plante says
Could that be why the police killed him, does anyone think, because he was some kind of police informant on something we either don’t know about, or don’t understand?
Paul Plante says
What does anything in his past have to do with what happened to him?
Probably everything, tokenny, unless you want us to believe it was purely by accident he was trying to peddle a counterfeit $20 to get a pack of cigarettes, which would have netted him a decent profit off a piece of otherwise worthless paper.
There truly is a whole lot about this case that stinks to high heaven starting with why didn’t they just take him downtown when he was arrested and already in the back of a police car, and why did the Black cop just stand there while George Floyd was being murdered by the white cop, but fact of the matter is that it was George Floyd’s own footsteps that brought him the death’s door as they did.
CHOICES, tokenny!
OH, WAIT!
Sorry, silly, stupid me!
What can I be thinking.
He’s Black, so he was not responsible for anything he ever did in his life, because it is all the fault of WHITE people like you and I, who oppressed him and made him turn to a life of crime.
Thanks for coming here to correct me on that score.
tokenny says
Tell me Paul how does his past warrant what happened to him. Please try to answer that question in a paragraph.
Paul Plante says
You obviously do not listen to enough country or Bluegrass to understand, tokenny:

Gotta do my time, gotta do my time

When that old judge looked down and smiled
Said I’ll put you on that good road for a while, Lord, Lord
Gotta do my time, gotta do my time
With an aching heart and a worried mind
You can hear my hammer, you can hear my song
I’m gonna swing it like John Henry all day long, Lord, Lord
Gotta do my time, gotta do my time
With an aching heart and a worried mind
It won’t be long, just a few more days
I’ll settle down and quit my rowdy ways, Lord, Lord
With that gal of mine, with that gal of mine
She’ll be waitin’ for me when I’ve done my time
tokenny says
I’m sorry, when does passing a counterfeit bill warrant a death sentence? No, Paul his footsteps didn’t bring him to deaths door. An officer who overstepped his bounds escorted him to death’s door

Paul Plante says
And my goodness, tokenny – who but a blithering idiot or moron would think differently.
Isn’t that why the cop is now up on murder charges?
Because he overstepped his bouds, I mean?
At least that is what I thought, anyway.
But I guess I could be wrong as you say, and thanks for coming in here to point that out and correct me, and get me over onto the right tack here instead of the wrong one.
And so, for the record, like Jane, you’re okay with the passing counterfeit money thing?
It was only a twenty, afterall.

One and only rebel child
From a family, meek and mild
My Mama seemed to know what lay in store
Despite all my Sunday learnin’
Towards the bad, I kept on turnin’
‘Til Mama couldn’t hold me anymore
And I turned twenty-one in prison doin’ life without parole
No one could steer me right but Mama tried, Mama tried
Mama tried to raise me better, but her pleading, I denied
That leaves only me to blame ’cause Mama tried
Paul Plante says
And Jane, I keep finding myself drawn back to your question “why did the system let him down by not intervening to help with his drug/mental health problem” which truly is a very important questionn for these very troubled times we find this sick nation with its own burgeoning drug and mental health problems descending down into.
For example, if you go to this Virginia Department of Health website https://www.vdh.virginia.gov/content/uploads/sites/18/2016/04/Fatal-Drug-Overdose-Quarterly-Report-1.pdf you will find that starting in 2014, fatal drug overdose became the leading cause of accidental death in Virginia.
So obviously, as you have so cogently pointed out here, the “system,” as you call it, is failing a lot of people beyond George Floyd.
WHY?
Consider that Minnesota, the state George Floyd died in, the state whose “system” let down George Floyd has been a primarily Democratic state in national elections since 1932.
And Virginia is also a Democrat state, as is New York, where heroin and fentanyl deaths are quite common.
Is that why the “system” is letting down so many people?
And what responsibility do the people of Cape Charles themselves bear for that?
It is clear from your question that some serious reflection on these times we have descended down into as society in this sick nation continues to devolve, so that law of the jungle is replacing rule of law.
Hopefully, you can help us out by providing some further insights as to the source of the problems, because they are many and multiplying.
If the Democrats are so obviously unable or unwilling or too incompetent to protect people like George Floyd and get him the help he needed, then why the hell do people keep putting more Democrats in positions of power so they can screw up the lives of even more people in this nation and make it sicker still?
MJM says
Well Good Lord Jane I’ll respond to that. When citizens are not abiding by the law they are often questioned by the police. Erratic public behavior that is escalating in negative intensity many times threatens public safety and causes restraint. Again I say view the entire sequence of events prior to his serious restraint.
As George Floyd’s actions became more physical, more combative and more dangerous you would be ready to predict that his actions would be dangerous to no one ? The police already had in their possession the information that this man had a record that was dangerous to public safety.
Your question as to “why did the system let him down by not intervening in his mental health and drug problems ?” Well, the man was never declared incompetent. Therefore once he reached age 18 he was totally responsible for his own decisions and actions. The system raised several red flags with him prior to his death on that sad day, and any time he was interacting with the system in prior contacts. The system cannot save every puppy in the pound is a saying that applies. Please do not say I am calling him a puppy. What I am saying is Mr. Floyd was responsible for his own decisions and actions a long time ago when he was deciding to be so anti social and went down the wrong road. He also should have stopped resisting a long time before he had to be put on the ground. Why anyone would put themselves in that position to force the police to have to be restrained is simply beyond a balanced thought process.
Did the police deserve to be put in such an anti social situation that threatened their safety and the safety of the public they are sworn to protect ?

“Man Shoots 2 Officers After Taking Gun”
By The Associated Press
Nov. 14, 1999
The Albany police were searching today for a man who they said had shot two police officers with one of their own guns.
The officers, Stanley Nadoraski and Thomas Shea, were wounded during a scuffle with the man in the Arbor Hill neighborhood of Albany about 1:45 a.m., according to Detective James Miller, a police spokesman.
The two officers had approached the man, Tracy Grady, to question him about a domestic dispute.
They struggled with Mr. Grady, who took an officer’s gun and fired several shots at both officers, Detective Miller said.
After Officer Shea fired back, the suspect fled, he said.
Officer Nadoraski, an eight-year veteran, was shot in the face, shoulder and abdomen.
He underwent surgery at Albany Medical Center Hospital and was listed in stable condition.
Officer Shea, who was shot once in the shoulder, was treated and released.
He has been with the department for seven years.
The police said Mr. Grady, 33, is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 215 pounds.
His hair may be braided, and he may be wearing a dark-colored jacket.
The police union is offering a $5,000 award for information leading to his capture.

The Color of Crime:
• Black males age 18-35 years of age are only 1.8% of the U.S. population, yet have committed 52% of homicides from 1980-2008. Black males (all ages) are only 6% of the U.S. population, yet commit 46% of all violent crimes, and 50% of the gun homicides. If Blacks were removed from the equation, the U.S. gun homicide rate would be equal to Great Britain’s, who have some of the most restrictive gun control laws in the world.
• The Black homicide rate is 17 per 100,000, a rate over 9x that of the White rate, and comparable to some of those most murderous countries in the world. If the homicide rate for the U.S. were the White-only rate, the homicide rate would drop 84%, making the U.S. rate comparable to European countries.
• According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics 2018 survey of criminal victimization, there were 593,598 interracial violent victimizations (excluding homicide) between Blacks and Whites last year, including White-on-Black and Black-on-White attacks. Blacks committed 537,204 of those interracial felonies, or 90 percent, and Whites committed 56,394 of them, or less than 10 percent.
• Blacks constitute 13% of the U.S. population, but represent 27% of all criminal activity in the U.S.
• According to the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting for 2018, of the homicide victims for whom race was known, 53.3% were Black, 43.8% were White and 2.8% were of other races. In cases where the race of the offender was known, 54.9% were Black, 42.4% were White, and 2.7% were of other races.
• Of the nearly 770,000 violent interracial crimes committed every year involving Blacks and Whites, Blacks commit 85 percent and Whites commit 15 percent. This means that a Black is 27 times more likely to attack a White person than vice versa.
• For each one standard deviation increase in proportion of Black population, firearm homicide rate is increased by 82.8%. Therefore, the U.S. has a Black problem, not a gun or violent crime problem. When Blacks commit crimes of violence, they are nearly three times more likely than non-Blacks to use a gun, and more than twice as likely to use a knife.
• 40% of gun crime occurs in just three cities: 596 (10%) – St Louis, MO, 53 (11%) – Detroit, MI, and 1,527 (27%) – Chicago, IL.
• Murder is the leading cause of death for Black men, ages 15 to 34. Their murderers are other Black men 93 percent of the time.
• Black males between 16-35 years of age are only 2.0% of the population, yet commit 72% of the street crime in America.
• The single best indicator of violent crime levels in an area is the percentage of the population that is Black.
• If New York City were all White, the murder rate would drop by 91 percent, the robbery rate by 81 percent, and the shootings rate by 97 percent. In an all-White Chicago, murder would decline 90 percent, rape by 81 percent, and robbery by 90 percent.
• Every year, approximately 6,000 blacks are murdered. This is a number greater than white and Hispanic homicide victims combined, even though blacks are only 12 percent of the national population. Blacks of all ages are killed at six times the rate of whites and Hispanics combined. That black death-by-homicide rate is a function of the black crime rate. The national rate of homicides committed by blacks is eight times that of whites and Hispanics combined. Black males between the ages of 14 and 17 commit homicide at 10 times the rate of white and Hispanic male teens combined.
• Homicide is not the only crime that is vastly racially disproportionate. New York City is representative of other crime spreading across the country. Blacks are 23 percent of New York’s population, but they commit 75 percent of all shootings, 70 percent of all robberies, and 66 percent of all violent crime, according to the victims of, and witnesses to, those crimes. Whites are 33 percent of the New York City’s population, but they commit less than 2 percent of all shootings, 4 percent of all robberies, and 5 percent of all violent crime.
• The United States is third in murders throughout the world, but if you omit just five Black cities (Chicago, Detroit, Washington DC, St Louis, and New Orleans) from the equation, then the United States is fourth from the bottom.
• Black serial killers have comprised over half of documented serial killers since the dawn of the 21st century at 56 percent, making up a total of 40 percent in years dating back to 1900. Blacks constituted 44% of the known serial killers during the 1995-2004 period and 38.2% of all multiple murderers (serial, mass, and spree combined) during 1976-1998 period. During the 2000-2010 decade, 62% of serial killers were Black.

Jane, with your statement that you think passing counterfeit money is a “minor misdemeanor,” are you saying that you are okay with people passing counterfeit money – that it really shouldn’t be considered much of a crime, like along the lines of jaywalking or spitting on the sidewalk?
Just curious as to how you see that, is all.
Maybe in the end, as you say, it’s really not all that big a deal anymore, especially if someone is Black like George Floyd, which would make it sort of okay, because everybody knows Black people are oppressed, which forces them into a life of crime, which is the fault of people with white skin.

Is passing a counterfeit bill a felony?
Manufacturing or knowingly using counterfeit currency in the United States in a felony offense and is taken very seriously.
The issue is addressed at a federal level and handled by the Secret Service (the government agencies was originally created for this very purpose).
Paul Plante says
It wasn’t an “accusation” that he was “high” on fentanyl – it was a medically proven fact that he had fentanyl in his system, and if you ask any knowledgeable police officer who has responded to fentanyl overdoses, it doesn’t make them “high,” it puts them down and out:
Can you overdose on fentanyl?
Yes, a person can overdose on fentanyl.
An overdose occurs when a drug produces serious adverse effects and life-threatening symptoms.
When people overdose on fentanyl, their breathing can slow or stop.
This can decrease the amount of oxygen that reaches the brain, a condition called hypoxia.
Hypoxia can lead to a coma and permanent brain damage, and even death.

If George Floyd had been obese, would we be blaming his eating habits for his death? The fact is, this cop had an attitude problem and behaved in an unprofessional manner, causing Mr. Floyd’s death. Perhaps if Mr. Chauvin was not small in stature, he might have possessed higher self-esteem, and not have felt the need to inflict unnecessary abuse to Mr. Floyd. Yes, Mr. Floyd had high levels of drugs in his system, but, he very likely could have survived the day, had Mr. Chauvin not resided on his neck for several minutes. Regarding the counterfeit $20 bill, how do you know that Mr. Floyd was aware of that? And even if he was, is that punishable by death? Is it ok to kill those that have a lifestyle that we don’t approve of? What if he was a member of your family?
Paul Plante says
If he had been a member of my family, he most likely would still be alive because my family is a stable, law-abiding, productive nuclear family.
EVERYBODY in life chooses the path they are going to walk on, and as I chose mine, George Floyd chose his, end of story, and yes, I have read about the life of George Floyd from the time he was young in the Chicago Tribune article “A long look at the complicated life of George Floyd” by LUIS ANDRES HENAO, NOMAAN MERCHANT, JUAN LOZANO and ADAM GELLER, Associated Press, on June 11, 2020, and I would suggest you do the same before trying to lay a “guilt trip” (make someone feel guilty, especially in order to induce them to do something” on people like me who do not imbibe your toxic KOOL-AID.
And if Chauvin was so small as you say (I have never met him or even seen him, myself) then how on earth was he able to subdue a big dude like George Floyd?
Paul Plante says
If George Floyd had been obese, and a coroner or medical examiner had ruled that he died because he was obese, or his obesity was a factor in his death, and we were a coroner’s jury hearing evidence, or a grand jury being presented with evidence in seeking for us to return an indictment, of course we would be blaming his eating habits for his death.
Reminds me of a heart doctor I once knew who would get apoplectic about obese people with heart problems who would come to him for meds.
He would tell them to lose weight and get some exercise, and they would blow that off with all kinds of excuses and demand the meds,
And in this “feel sorry for the victim” society we are now, we are supposed to “feel sorry” for them because they are victims, a theory I do not buy into.
And I know of quite a few people up this way, many of them young, who have died from fentanyl, without the help of anybody else kneeling on them, so people do die from fentanyl, and if we were on a grand jury, we would be obligated to consider that.
Paul Plante says
Who knows what George Floyd knew or was thinking about anything?
As to it being “ok to kill those that have a lifestyle that we don’t approve of,” given that Chauvin is now facing a slew of various murder charges for which he is now standing trial, and for which he will be rapidly convicted, quite obviously, it is NOT ok to kill those that have a lifestyle that we don’t approve of, and that was really a pretty silly question for someone over the age of 18 to be asking.
Chauvin is going to be convicted because the jury is going to be scared to do otherwise out of fear of having Democrat and BLACK LIVES MATTER mobs coming after them, and if he was acquitted, not only would those howling mobs be coming after the jurors, but they would be burning down America as well.
Paul Plante says
As to George Floyd’s interactions with the “system” you say failed him, AP has an excellent story on his life titled “For George Floyd, a complicated life and a notorious death” by LUIS ANDRES HENAO, NOMAAN MERCHANT, JUAN LOZANO and ADAM GELLER on June 10, 2020:
https://apnews.com/a55d2662f200ead0da4fed9e923b60a7
I would say that George Floyd, who once has a lot of promise, failed the “system.”
Should he have died as he did?
I don’t think so, but then, I wasn’t there, and that is why we have a system of justice in this country, to determine those facts.
A question in my mind is why did the Black cop watching it happen do nothing?
He was the “system,” afterall.
Tom Haskins says

Ian Coleman says
How was it that George Floyd, an unemployed bouncer in a night club, was driving a Mercedes Benz? Nobody’s asking that question because it obviously suggests that Floyd was involved in some kind of profitable criminal activity, and in fact if he was this would be inadmissible in the trial of Derek Chauvin. Still, the media narrative that Floyd was a responsible citizen is at the very least questionable, especially given Floyd’s criminal history.
The trial of Derek Chauvin is a farce, because there is no way that it can be proved beyond a reasonable doubt that Chauvin killed Floyd. The infamous knee-on-the-neck is a permitted restraining technique, and has been used thousands of times by policemen without killing anyone. The lack of damage to Floyd’s neck (as shown by the official autopsy) indicates that Chauvin wasn’t putting enough pressure on Floyd’s neck to restrict his breathing. On the other hand, the toxicology report can be reasonably interpreted to indicate that Floyd died a drug overdose.
The trial judge has now ruled it admissible for the defense to present testimony that Floyd, having been stopped by police in 2019, swallowed drugs, resulting in a trip to the hospital rather than to a jail cell. It is reasonable to speculate that Floyd, about to be arrested and carrying illegal drugs in 2020, swallowed them in an attempt to conceal them. Unfortunately this time the police didn’t see him doing it and were unaware that that is what he had done, and didn’t realize the extent of his medical distress until it was too late. All this will be presented under rules of evidence to Chauvin’s jury.
Paul Plante says
If Chauvin is not convicted, then BLACK LIVES MATTER and the Democrat mobs are going to burn down America.
Paul Plante says
I think soon enough we will be hearing that somebody in prison kneeled on Derek Chauvin’s neck to see if he could go nine minutes without calling for his mama, and they found that he wasn’t up to the task because he couldn’t breathe, poor boy.
Todd Holden says
The North American Negroes marched, cried, died, sang, prayed, had dogs turned on them, were beaten, hung, maimed, raped ect. all the while begging to be allowed to integrate/assimilate. It has been over 50 years since they were allowed to try. They have failed miserably and now they appear Self-Segregated. They have chosen to now turn on the police, a battle that they will never win. The Chicano has already taken their place as a viable work force. The pendulum is about to swing again. The negro has already been left behind.
Paul Plante says
They DESIRE to be self-segregated.
Todd Holden says
Then they have not kept their end of the bargain, as usual.
White privilege? The phrase was invented to explain away black failures in this ‘white man’s’ system. Their failure was predictable well before forced integration was created in 1964.
Paul Plante says
Which “bargain” was that, Todd?
I have been in this country for over 70 years now, a short time, admittedly, and I certainly have intact memories from the fifties and sixties, and I don’t recall any such “bargain” as you are referring to.
And not looking to the right or left here, the fact of the matter is that “American Negro” has just taken control of the national government here in the United States of America.
So maybe we will find out more about the so-called “bargain” from them as the days go by.
As to this A-HOLE Chauvin, my suggestion to him is to start doing some very serious neck-strengthening exercises so that when some 300-lb Black dude (“American Negro”) in prison gets Derek down on the floor of the prison shower room and puts his knee on Derek’s neck, it won’t bother him all that much.
Otherwise, he better pray for solitary confinement.
