Looking Information about former Priest of St. Charles Catholic Church

March 10, 2019 by Wayne Creed 3 Comments

The Mirror received this request for information regarding the former Pastor of Saint Charles Catholic Church, Robert Freiler. We have done some digging, but so far have come up empty. Any information about Robert Freiler would be appreciated.

Below is the original request:

My name is Anne (Nancy) Freiler Pollard.  My uncle Robert Freiler was the pastor at your Catholic Church in Cape Charles sometime in the mid 1960’s until his death on 3/10/78.

I am doing a genealogy study of our family.  If my memory serves me correctly,  Fr. Bob was a pedestrian hit and killed by a car.  I am wondering if you can provide any information or perhaps a news clip about the incident.

I have a newspaper article about the death of Robert Freiler, but can not drop it in this comment. Will be glad to share it in an email if interested.

Thank you so much! You can send to capecharlesmirror@gmail.com.
