UPDATE: accused perpetrator of park assault indicted

November 11, 2015 by 2 Comments

The assault that took place in Central Park was surely one of the low points of the last year for Cape Charles. However, it did shine a light on the professionalism, intelligence, grit  and training of Chief Pruitt’s CCPD. Through hard work, and basically just good old fashioned police work, the perpetrator was apprehended by the CCPD in less than a day after the assault.

Today, Frederick Wayne Baker (16), who is a resident of Cape Charles was indicted in Northampton Circuit Court for abduction, use of firearm while committing abduction, rape, use of firearm while committing rape, forcible sodomy, use of firearm while committing sodomy, robbery, use of firearm while committing robbery and stealing a firearm.

Glad to see Chief Pruitt’s police force is so competent and the suspect was arrested so quickly. Good work!!!

Great work Chief! Now the Town Council needs to put some cameras in the park near the bathrooms and bandstand. The bathrooms are not locked at night and people have been sleeping there and in the bandstand. There is also a lot of vandalism and damage being done to the bandstand and the metal fences in the park.
