ONANCOCK, Va. — The Onancock Town Council will hold a public hearing on Monday, Dec. 15, 2025, to consider an amendment to its lease agreement with Virtual Bridge, the company that owns and operates the Verizon Wireless communications tower located on town-owned property.
The hearing is scheduled for 7 p.m. in the Town Council Chambers at 15 North Street.
According to the notice, the proposed amendment would authorize an addition to one of the existing structures within Virtual Bridge’s current leased area. In exchange, the town would receive additional financial compensation. The draft amendment has been reviewed and approved as to form by the town attorney.
The public hearing is required under Section 15.2-1800(B) of the Code of Virginia, which mandates that localities receive public comment before entering into, modifying, or renewing any lease of real property.
Residents are encouraged to attend and share their views. Written comments may be submitted in advance to the Town Manager’s Office at 15 North Street, Onancock, VA 23417, or by email to matt.spuck@onancock.com.
A copy of the proposed lease amendment is available for public inspection during normal business hours at Town Hall.
