Police Notes for May 2022

Drunken violence was the story for May. The Cape Charles Police Department made 4 felony and 12 misdemeanor arrests. There were 5 DUI arrests, 5 assault and battery cases. A police officer was assaulted during a stop. The perpetrator also refused to take a breath test. A malicious wounding was also recorded.

There were 98 calls for service in town, and the CCPD assisted other agencies 10 times (7 with Northampton Sheriff’s, and 3 with the State Police).

The force logged 36 foot patrol hours. 13 hours were spent patrolling Bay Creek.
