
Registration is now open for the Beginning Beekeeping Class that will be held at the Virginia Tech Research Station in Painter on two consecutive Saturdays, March 7 & March 17 (8:30 AM-1:30 PM). Sponsored by the Beekeepers Guild of the Eastern Shore, the class will be comprised of lectures from experienced beekeepers and discussions within the student group plus demonstrations of beekeeping skills such as operating a smoker and preparing hive boxes for bee occupancy.
The cost for the two-day class is $30 and this covers an essential beekeeping handbook and other materials, breakfasts and snacks. Class size will be limited to thirty.
