The second annual State of the Waters event is being held Tuesday October 18th at 6pm in the Eastern Shore Community College Great Hall. The event is free and open to the public and will include presentations from experts on our Chesapeake Bay and Atlantic waters, on such topics as aquaculture, fisheries, bay health, and more. Citizens will have an opportunity to ask questions of the panelists after presentations. This event is sponsored by Virginia Eastern Shorekeeper and the Eastern Shore Community College.
Panelists include the Deputy Secretary of Natural Resources for the Chesapeake Bay, Russ Baxter, the Commissioner of Virginia Marine Resource Commission, John Bull, the Executive Director of the Virginia Shellfish Growers Association, Mike Oesterling, Director of the VIMS Eastern Shore Lab, Dr. Richard Snyder, and the Senior Coastal Research Scientist from the VIMS Center for Coastal Resource Management, Pam Mason.
