  1. It is not possible for any inanimate object to “trigger hatred or bigotry”. We are all responsible for our own actions. I believe that what triggers anger or bigotry is simply the anger pre-existing inside the individual acting out in such a sad way that is totally contrary to the principles of America.
Look, I have had plenty of bad days, and all I want to do is frown. Can I justify to go out and beat the snot out of someone wearing a smiley shirt ?
A N.Y. Giant, or Dallas Cowboy shirt/hat does not trigger hatred or bigotry, even at Redskins stadium. Just like a MAGA hat, all any of that clothing does is declare an appreciation for something. I really don’t care where the hat or shirt is being worn. That geography has nothing to do with our right as Americans to wear clothing of our choice.
We can’t justify anyone stealing and beating the owner of a hat displaying the colors of Japan, Jamaica, Australia or Africa, now can we ? So how can anyone defend either/any of those actions towards a MAGA hat/owner ? A Gore, Clinton or Obama hat ?
Perhaps any/all of these transgressions should be tried as federal hate crimes ? Then perhaps, as word gets around how expensive that is to defend oneself against, we could inject tolerance into more hearts.
As I always say, anger helps nothing. Please contribute in a positive manner, or stay home.
