Pet-friendly local craft beer festival featuring 30+ craft beers, live music, world famous Chincoteague oysters and clams, local food trucks, vendors, and children’s activities
Berlin, MD, April 9, 2018: The Shore Craft Beer Fest is returning to Chincoteague Island from 12:30 – 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 28 at the Chincoteague Fairgrounds.
Shore Craft Beer Fest: Chincoteague, co-sponsored by the Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Company and the Tri-County Council Foundation, highlights Chincoteague’s own Black Narrows Brewing Co. in addition to 13 other local breweries.
Breweries from Delaware (Dogfish Head, 3rd Wave) and Maryland (EVO, Tall Tales, Fin City) join four breweries from Virginia (O’Connor Brewing, Smartmouth Brewing, Hardywood Park Craft Brewery, Bold Mariner Brewing Co.) never before featured at a Shore Craft Beer Fest. Bold Rock Cider and Hoop Tea will also be on-site for the non-beer drinkers.
The event is both family-friendly and pet-friendly, and is free to non-drinkers. Those who purchase tickets will receive unlimited tastings of 30+ beers all from local breweries. The Chincoteague Shore Craft Beer Fest is THE festival for spring on the Shore.
“Shore Craft Beer is thrilled to be working with the Volunteer Fire Company and the Fairfield Inn to bring this signature spring festival back to Chincoteague,” said Ann McGinnis Hillyer, founder of Shore Craft Beer.
Tootsie the Clown will be at the festival entertaining kids with her face-painting and balloons. Live music will be heard all afternoon, vendors ranging from beef jerky to clothing to hand-crafted jewelry will be on-site, and food trucks will provide dishes perfect for beer pairings, like the world-famous Chincoteague oysters and clams from Tom’s Cove Aquafarms.
“When you combine our world class local beer, the world class beauty of Chincoteague, and world class Chincoteague oysters and clams with the local food trucks, vendors, live music and kids activities, you get a magical combination that makes this truly the best festival on the Shore this spring,” Hillyer said. “We’ll even have water for your dogs so feel free to bring your pets, too.”
Additionally, the Chincoteague Cultural Alliance will be bringing back their Plein Air artists to paint scenes of the event and of Chincoteague.
Festivalgoers can watch the artists paint all afternoon and then see a gallery of their work at the Wet Paint Sale at the festival’s After Party, sponsored by the Ropewalk in Chincoteague. All festivalgoers can enjoy Happy Hour prices from 4:30 – 7 p.m. at the Ropewalk’s Chincoteague waterfront location.
Hotel packages are available at the Fairfield Inn & Suites Chincoteague by Marriott, and camping packages are available at the Chincoteague Island KOA.
General Admission tickets are $30 and VIP tickets are $45 when purchased online before April 15. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the door. VIP tickets include a commemorative event t-shirt, a commemorative glass to the first 600 attendees and an extra hour of beer tasting.
