VIRGINIA BEACH — A discussion with leading Chesapeake Bay science and restoration experts comes as Virginia completes its final update to the Clean Water Blueprint, which creates a roadmap to a restored Bay.
Finishing the Job in Virginia is the next installment in the Chesapeake Bay Foundation’s free Brock Environmental Center Learning Series.
“Right now is a critical time for Bay restoration as Virginia finalizes its update to the Clean Water Blueprint. This discussion is a great opportunity to learn about about how far we’ve come and explore the concrete actions still needed to reach a restored Chesapeake Bay,” said CBF Senior Scientist Joe Wood.
Speakers include Rich Batiuk, recently retired from the EPA’s Chesapeake Bay Program office; James Davis Martin, the Chesapeake Bay Program Manager for the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality; and Wood.
The event will be on May 14, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Brock Environmental Center at 3663 Marlin Bay Drive, foundation officials said.
Parking is available a short walk from the Brock Center on Marlin Bay Drive. The event is free, but space is limited.
