CAPE CHARLES, Va. — Young dinosaur enthusiasts in Cape Charles will have a chance to step into the world of paleontology later this month when Cape Charles Memorial Library hosts “Digging Dinosaurs,” a hands-on educational program presented in partnership with the Virginia Living Museum.
The free program is designed for children ages 6 and older, with an adult required to attend, and will give participants an opportunity to explore what it takes to be a paleontologist through a mix of fossil displays, activities and interactive learning.
According to the library, children will be able to get an up-close look at prehistoric discoveries, including real dinosaur bones, teeth and fossils. Participants will also examine casts of dinosaur eggs, skulls and skin, and discover dinosaur models and puppets as part of the program.
Organizers say the event is intended to spark curiosity about science and natural history while offering a fun summer learning experience for children who are fascinated by dinosaurs and fossils.
“Digging Dinosaurs” will be offered on June 24, 25, 26 and 29 at the library, with available times at 10 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
The program is part of the library’s summer programming lineup and aims to bring museum-style educational experiences directly to the Cape Charles community.
