Press Release: The Town of Cape Charles is excited to announce the launch of a new, user-friendly licensing system powered by Civic Review. This new system will streamline business licensing* and event permit processing, making it easier and faster to apply for and renew business licenses online. *IMPORTANT: This new software specifically EXCLUDES Short-Term-Rental licensing.
Benefits of the New System:
- Online Applications and Renewals: Residents and Businesses can now submit their applications, supporting documents, and payment information electronically, minimizing the need for paper forms and in-person submittals. The Finance Department will still be here to welcome and assist our citizens who prefer face-to-face interaction, but all licensing will be performed online. Payments are conveniently and securely made by credit card online, but cash and checks will still be accepted in our offices this year.
- Improved Tracking and Communication: Applicants can now track the status of their business license application in real-time and receive updates through the process. The system also facilitates clearer communication between applicants and Town staff.
- Reduced Approval Times: Civic Review automates workflows and simplifies internal processes for Town staff, allowing for a faster review process.
