“Adventures in Nature” Summer Camp

EASTERN SHORE, VA – Three of the Eastern Shore’s leading conservation and youth organizations are teaming up to offer a unique summer experience for local children. The Eastern Shore Soil & Water Conservation District, the Eastern Shore National Wildlife Refuge, and Northampton County 4-H have announced the “Adventures in Nature” Summer Day Camp.

The two-day camp will be held on June 24th and 25th from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Eastern Shore National Wildlife Refuge, located at 32205 Seaside Road in Cape Charles. The program is designed for children aged 9 to 13 and aims to connect them with the natural world through a variety of engaging activities.

Campers will have the opportunity to participate in hiking, arts and crafts, drawing, games, and science-based activities. The hands-on curriculum is designed to foster a greater appreciation for the region’s unique environment.

The cost for the two-day event is $15 per child, and organizers note that space is limited.

Parents interested in enrolling their children should follow a three-step registration process:

1. Register by emailing 4-H Agent Erin Morgan at emorgan2@vt.edu.
2. Once confirmation is received, payment must be mailed by June 19th to PO Box 119, Machipongo, VA 23405, or hand-delivered to 7247 Young St., Machipongo.
3. Complete the enrollment process through the 4-H Online system as instructed.

Participants are reminded to bring a bagged lunch and wear closed-toe shoes suitable for outdoor activities.
