CAPE CHARLES, Va. β The Cape Charles Historic District Review Board will review several Applications for Certificates of Appropriateness during its upcoming meeting, with projects ranging from exterior renovations to new residential construction within the townβs historic district.
The boardβs agenda includes seven proposals under the category of renovations, additions, and new construction. Among the applications are:
- 439 Mason Avenue β A request to replace siding, windows, trim, and fascia on a single-family home.
- 115 Unit 202 Mason Avenue β Replace windows
- 550 Madison Avenue β replace front porch wood turned columns, vinyl turned balustrades, and vinyl turned step railings with vinyl square..
- 537 Mason Avenue β A proposal to demolish the existing front porch and construct a new one on the single-family home.
- 600 Monroe Avenue β Plans to enclose the rear portico and replace the back step railing.
- 114 Fig Street β A request to screen in the existing rear deck on a single-family home.
- Tax Map #83A1-8-F β A proposal for new construction of a two-story single-family home, along with installation of a sidewalk.
Each application will be evaluated for compliance with the townβs Historic District Guidelines, which are designed to preserve the architectural integrity and character of Cape Charlesβ historic neighborhoods.
The boardβs review ensures that any exterior modifications or new developments are consistent with the districtβs historic standards and overall aesthetic.
