CAPE CHARLES, Va. (AP) — The Cape Charles Planning Commission will convene a joint work session with the Town Council on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. The session will focus on Section 13 of the Sign Ordinance, specifically addressing signage regulations in the Heavy and Light Industrial Districts.
The Planning & Zoning Administrator is currently engaged in several significant projects:
- Subdivision Plat Review: Working with VAW on the review of subdivision plats for Bay Creek Village F-1 and the Washington Avenue – Dreams by the Water subdivision. Additionally, the site plan for Taylor Bank is under review, alongside various residential building permit applications that are transitioning due to payment for utility connections but no commencement of work prior to the sale of lots.
- Bay Creek Developer Lots: Finalized a tracking database for Bay Creek Developer Lots as of April 25, 2024, to assist the Treasurer’s Office in monitoring the sale of these lots and the receipt of related impact fees. A review meeting with the Treasurer’s staff has been conducted.
- P&Z Position: Conducted an interview on Friday for a new Planning & Zoning position, with additional interviews scheduled for the coming week.
- Zoning Ordinance Amendments: Finalizing a proposed zoning ordinance amendments packet, scheduled for distribution by May 20, 2024. This packet will be discussed in the upcoming agenda work session with the Town Council and Planning Commission.
- Phone Service Research: Assisting the Town Clerk in researching and obtaining quotations and proposals for new phone service for Town Hall and its outlying departments.
