The Northampton County Board of Supervisors voted to regulate short-term rentals (rentals less than 30 days and usually found by online listings).

According to Charlene Gray, Northampton County’s commissioner of the revenue, 275 providers in the county offer “AirB&B” types of short-term rentals, yet there is not an ordinance to regulate them.

The new ordinance only ensures that owners who have registered with the county pay business license tax and follow rules. The short-term rental owners causing problems probably have not registered, do not pay occupancy tax, and do not have enforceable rules.
My neighbor air B&B s here house and the renters have all been lovely. I don’t think it’s a problem. If someone trespassers on your propert, call the police, but don’t generalize it to be the fault of all renters.
