Ker Place operates as a museum and cultural center that showcases the rich heritage and history of the Eastern Shore of Virginia. The house has been carefully restored and furnished with period-appropriate antiques, allowing visitors to step back in time and experience life as it was during the late 18th and 19th centuries.
The museum at Ker Place features various exhibits that delve into the region’s history, including displays on maritime history, early settlements, Native American culture, and the agricultural heritage of the Eastern Shore. Additionally, the site hosts educational programs, events, and lectures that engage visitors in the fascinating stories of the area.
Beyond the historic mansion, Ker Place boasts beautifully landscaped gardens and well-preserved grounds. Visitors can take leisurely strolls around the property, enjoying the serenity of the Eastern Shore’s natural beauty.
