Melfa, VA- The Eastern Shore Tourism Commission announced their new Marketing Director, Susannah Morey today. Born and raised in Melfa, she is excited to call the Eastern Shore home once again.
Morey graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in December 2018 with a major in Mass Communications and a minor in Business. During her college career, she focused on working with nonprofits such as Richmond Friends of the Homeless and the Special Olympics creating social media campaigns and generating evergreen content.

In the summer of 2018, she traveled to Cape Town, South Africa, to intern with Streetwires Artist Collective, a social enterprise art gallery and working artists’ studio. Streetwires’ mission is to help struggling craft wire and bead artists find job stability as well as to continue to use their creativity and practice their craft. Morey’s favorite project was writing for the Streetwires blog. This gave her the opportunity to frequent coffee shops, take photos, and befriend local, small business owners.
“I have always found great passion in my work and I am very excited to combine my passion for Marketing, with my passion for the Eastern Shore,” stated Morey. “Throughout my life, I have watched the Eastern Shore gain attention nationwide. During my first year at VCU, I remember seeing girls around campus wearing Cape Charles t-shirts and being amazed. More and more people are coming to visit and loving our little slice of heaven. I’m excited to continue the promotion of the Eastern Shore because I truly think there is no place like it.”
About the Author
They should use the local shellfish as fertilizer – For example grow enough oysters & clams & then the shells can be ground up into organic fertilizer that would then be sprayed onto the fields.
This would be a safe alternative to the chicken poo.
I wanted to add this to the Chicken Fertilizer story but it would not let me.
