The Town of Cape Charles is facing new questions following the departure of Planning and Zoning Administrator Katie Nunez, who is no longer employed by the town.
As of Friday, town officials had released little public information regarding the circumstances surrounding her departure.
The Cape Charles Mirror reached out to multiple members of Town Council seeking clarification. Council members declined to comment in detail, directing questions instead to Town Manager Rick Keuroglian.
One council member told the Mirror that “you need to contact the Town Manager, because she worked for him.” Another said, “Unfortunately, I can’t give any information other than she is no longer employed by the Town.”
The Mirror has emailed Town Manager Rick Keuroglian requesting comment but had not received a response as of publication time.
Nunez had served as the town’s Planning and Zoning Administrator and played a central role in several major initiatives, including zoning amendments, short-term rental regulations, historic district matters, workforce housing discussions, and long-range planning efforts tied to the harbor and railroad district.
Town Council is expected to appoint a new Zoning Administrator and Subdivision Agent during a special meeting scheduled for May 14.
No additional information has been publicly released.

When Trumps fires Hegseth, will he appoint Erika Kirk to run the DOD?
