At Thursday’s Town Council Regular Meeting, Town Manager Hozey noted that the installation of Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations in Cape Charles is getting closer. Final agreements between ANEC and Canonie Atlantic Co. have been reached, and are only waiting on final signatures.
Accomack-Northampton Electric Cooperative (ANEC) will install two Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations in Cape Charles.
The stations will be installed in the public parking area behind 300 Mason Avenue. The installation has been delayed for another two weeks–the actual installation date has not been determined.
The stations will offer both Level 2 and Level 3 charging capabilities

HUGE news here to the north of Cape Charles regarding EV charging stations FEDERALLY FUNDED EV HUB OPENS IN KINGSTON!
For only a MILLION dollars, which today is chump change, what with TRILLION DOLLAR federal deficits and BILLION dollar state deficits (in the fiscal year of 2021, Virginia’s state debt stood at about 30.03 billion U.S. dollars. By the fiscal year of 2027, this is forecasted to increase to about 37.82 billion U.S. dollars), Joe Biden and Jennifer Granholm and Gina Raimondo and Peter Paul Montgomery Buttigieg and Janet “TOODLES” Yellen, all of whom are taking VICTORY LAPS, with this proving that BIDE-O-NOMICS really does deliver for the American people, installed FOUR charging stations in a bank parking lot to service traffic on the heavily traveled NY Thruway, which is nowhere near the bank parking lot.
According to Shailen Bhatt, a dude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Western Kentucky University, who from 2017 to 2021 was the president and CEO of the ITS America, a transportation lobbying organization, thereafter joining AECOM, an engineering firm, as senior vice president for global transportation innovation and alternative delivery in 2021 who is now the Administrator of Joe Biden’s Federal Highway Administration, the SUPERCHARGED version allows an EV to charge in only a HALF an hour, not all that long for someone trying to get from A to B to have to wait in freezing cold weather, assuming they can get access to a charger right away, at around $25 a fill-up.
The four charging stations can service a whopping 16 EV’s at a time, which works out to 32 EV’s an hour, assuming they actually are in service (based on network data monitored across the United States this year, the most common reasons for failed EV charging sessions are problems with: station connectivity: 55 percent. internal station faults or errors: 38 percent. charging connector or cable: 4 percent).
So KUDOS to Cape Charles for bringing Cape Charles into the BRAVE NEW WORLD of BIDE-O-NISM!
Gruppy old man says
What about people who drive “old” type cars, when is the town going to give us a gas station?
Bob says
Thats the idea
YOUR NOT going to get a GAS station ! WHY because there will NOT be any gas for you to have .

It was not part of their blood,
It came to them very late,
With long arrears to make good,
When the Saxon began to hate.
They were not easily moved,
They were icy — willing to wait
Till every count should be proved,
Ere the Saxon began to hate.
Their voices were even and low.
Their eyes were level and straight.
There was neither sign nor show
When the Saxon began to hate.
It was not preached to the crowd.
It was not taught by the state.
No man spoke it aloud
When the Saxon began to hate.
It was not suddently bred.
It will not swiftly abate.
Through the chilled years ahead,
When Time shall count from the date
That the Saxon began to hate.

Ha, I can’t wait for the Eastern Shore EB folks who must evacuate because of a hurricane or loss of electrical power. Remember Isabel September 2003? And where do they think their EV charging stations will be up and down U.S. 13 with nobody else waiting to re-charge. Even people in Miami know that there is no EV solution should they have to drive North on Interstate 95 or West to on Interstate 75.

EB should have read EV, but my house lights dimmed !
