Enquiring minds want to know, of all of the people running for Town Council this election, who among you are going to look out for the residents of the town as opposed to worrying about tourism? I for one I’m tired of all this tourism crap. I would like to know what each of the people running for council plan to do about runaway spending & our lousy water situation?

From my perspective and from what I’ve read (and feel free to correct me if I am wrong) Cape Charles has several major issues that loom large in its future. One, the twelve million dollar debt it has incurred and second, the aged and now failing sanitation infrastructure. Two very expensive payouts and growing daily. Watch and listen carefully, citizens, to what these registered candidates have to say in the coming months. You must choose very carefully. Your fiscal future rides on their very words, and if elected…their deeds. Now is the time to deal with these issues.

The people who know the real problems do not run for office in cape charles. They put their property up for sale and hope they can get out before the facade crumbles.

Neve thought I’d do this but here goes. Is it possible that a certain female contributor could reply or contribute without the swear words please? Once we start down this road it disintegrates fast. And how about the gentleman who considers tourism “crap”? Really? Well I guess if you want to returln to a stagnating town then sure, why not” And then we have the other person who reckons the only wise response is to sell up and leave before it’s too late? Too late for what? For wiser and cooler heads to prevail? Or perhaps for those of us whoo LOVE Cape Charles to stop being the silent majority and stand up to be counted? Oh, one last thought, “those who know what’s really going on” don’t run for public office? I hate to do this but as my teenager would have said “Puleeeeeze”!!!!!!!
