Due to Covid-19 every family in America was suddenly and unexpectedly given the opportunity to home school their children. Even under this stressful unprepared environment, many families discovered the joy and freedom of teaching their children at home.
This survey https://www.federationforchildren.org/national-poll-40-of-families-more-likely-to-homeschool-after-lockdowns-end/ states that 40% of families are now considering homeschooling.
Cape Charles is blessed to have a supportive local homeschooling community which includes Cape Charles Classical Conversations. We are a group of homeschooling families that meet together weekly to provide support and encouragement to parents as they begin this journey. Children participate in science, fine art, music, an orchestra with their friends while learning about the world God made.
Check our Facebook page to see all the fun we had together this past year https://www.facebook.com/ccclassicalconversations-105591914303802/?ref=bookmarks .
We are beginning our second year this fall and hope to add a junior high and high school level and are looking for a parent to lead this program (it is a paid position through Classical Conversations).
If you or someone you know is looking for resources about beginning the home schooling journey join me for an online information meeting on June 15th at 7:00 pm https://members.classicalconversations.com/events/get-event/node/217142 or any other online information meeting on the C.C. website https://www.classicalconversations.com/ .
