It is no surprise the Confederate statute and businesses in Parksley were vandalized last weekend. Self-styled social justice warrior and demagogue Jay Ford said the Black Lives Matter movement was coming to rural America and he welcomed them the Eastern Shore. All four sides of the monument are stenciled with a clenched black fist, symbol of the BLM movement.
The Editor and staff of Eastern Shore Post, in concert with Ford, led us to believe the monument stood in a prominent place where visitors to Parksley would be confronted and offended by this monument as a symbol of the white racism and black oppression endemic of the culture of the people of the Eastern Shore. They say it must be torn down and moved to a place out of public view. In fact, however, the monument already is in such a place, set back on a small parcel of land fronting on a road running alongside of the western edge of the downtown area. It is set in a residential area of older and Victorian-style homes. A visitor would have to ask where it was if they wanted to see it.
Two months ago, I challenged comrade Ford and several of his woke fellow travelers to make some comment expressing disapproval and condemnation of the destruction of memorials throughout the country, and the associated violence. Certainly, I thought, even he (they) would object to vandalizing the Tomb of Unknown soldiers of the Revolutionary War, the World War II Memorial, and memorials to George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, and Frederick Douglass. They would not even agree these were worthy of protection.
Why then, did Ford and his woke fellow travelers attack Parksley Town Council and a business in Cape Charles for having views other than his own “groupthink” and endeavor to shame by asserting their moral superiority? Why, now, the monument at the Courthouse in Eastville? Who and what next? Why has Ford invited the Washington Post to tell their swampy world about his cause and solicit money from beyond the Shore to tell the “REAL” history of the Shore’s oppression of black people?
To understand the who, what and why of Ford and followers as they bring the BLM movement to the Eastern Shore, it is necessary to realize their rationale is not an analytic rationale. Not chicken or egg but a chicken and egg kind of thing. Ford fancies himself as the Eastern Shore vanguard of a movement that wants to fundamentally change America. The Eastern Shore, being the oldest continuously settled area in America by English speaking (white) people, uniquely fits the agenda. Ford is spreading the epidemic virus called wokeness, cancel culture, or “groupthink.” The virus begins with a demand for ideological conformity. Diagnosis and symptoms are intolerance of opposing views, public shaming, and blinding moral certainty of the rightness of the cause.
One cannot, and should not bother to, reason or engage in a rational discussion with Ford et al. He knows nothing of Eastern shore history and wants not to learn of it. So also can it be said fo his view of the whole of the progression of Western civilization.
Ford and fellow travelers are true believers and ultimate racists. Take race out of their conversation and it becomes but an empty shell Marxist dogma.
Yes, it can happen here. As both Ford and BLM have said “We are coming to rural America” and that means to us .To paraphrase Pogo (1948-1975), a cartoon character who lived in a swamp, “We have met the enemy and he is among us”.
Note. This was written five days after the vandalizing of the statute and businesses in Parksley. There has not been a word of disapproval from Ford and fellow travelers. Nothing has been reported by the Eastern Shore Post, so eager to publish in social media their support of Ford and his cause. This is the face of what they bring to the Eastern Shore.

As a Black person, she has credibility as to “Black issues,” and what she says is that Black culture is unique in that it is the only culture that caters to the bottom denominator of their society – “we are the only people that fight and scream and demand justice for the people in our community that are up to no good!”
I would love to see Pope Ford of the Church of the Most Holy and Righteous Among Us try to debate this intelligent young woman and tell her that he is right and she is wrong.
And as a not-for-profit, is the Chesapeake Bay Foundation supposed to be engaging in politics?
Amen, Mr. Plante and Mr. Landis. I think MANY of us are waiting for some kind of response from those like Jay Ford and his supporters about this issue of property destruction. As you stated, any and all behavior is acceptable to them if it furthers their Marxist cause. And very telling that the ES Post refuses to take any kind of stance on this, or even report it factually.

FWIW, I did a little checking yesterday and found a website that lists non-profits’ ratios for what portion of proceeds go to the causes they espouse.
CBF clocks in at around 50% which isn’t the most egregious example of abuse, but it isn’t that great either.
PS – I can’t wait for the next plea for funds to show up in the mailbox. Honestly, I don’t recall if they do that since I throw all junk mail away without even looking at it, but I’m looking now.

The Nature Conservancy is no better. They have persuaded people on their death beds to sign over others inheritance to them right here on The Shore.

I wonder if Jay C. Ford even has the ability to realize his harmful words help breed such negative activity and destruction in Parksley ? Does he celebrate it ? Again, do he and his compadres at CBF believe this law breaking activity is creating community bonds ? He/they are such a greater moral police that “they” are leading us to enlightenment ? I believe it is no coincidence that this destruction of the monument took place so soon after Jay C’s attack on The Shore. Is Mayor Frank sending The CBF a “moral” bill to clean the monument ? HE SHOULD. Is The Honorable (and I say that sarcastically) Jay C. Ford offering to clean the monument ? Is clean water more important than having clean towns ? I must say I see some serious irony in all of this. Mr. Jay C. Ford and the CBF complain of oppression and then create and support a serious method of oppression to discuss and deal with it ? Ain’t that a kick in the —- ? Due to that obvious fact I believe we can celebrate their opinion just as much as we continue to celebrate slavery these days, WHICH WE DON’T. WE have learned from previous mistakes, and the CBF and Jay C. Ford have learned nothing. Correct ?
And as far as waiting for The CBF to mail us anything requesting donations ? Just get on their e mailing list. I am. Greenies love that method of saving paper. Every time they notify me of anything, I e mail them back and tell them how they are screwing up over here on The Shore. I don’t mention money, or whatever subject they e mail me about. Almost every day. They receive it. They are getting the message. It feels good to send them such a positive message. I harm no one and help my own state of mind. It’s called the high road way above and over their cancel culture. One day at a time folks.

Then scroll down to Part III, “Statement of Program Service Accomplishments,” which makes for interesting reading.
Then consider how the mission of the Abolitionist Pope of the Church of the Most Holy and Righteous Among Us Jay Ford to scourge the wickedness and iniquity that dwells in the hearts of those who live in Cape Charles is in any way consistent with anything stated in that tax form, in the light of the fact charitable nonprofits and foundations may not “participate in, or intervene in (including publishing or distributing of statements), any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for political office.” 26 U.S.C. Section 501(c)(3).
This prohibition applies to any and all candidates for federal, state and even local elections.
New info for you all regarding the CBF. I told you I am on their mailing list and that they e mail me almost every. I told you I respond to their e mail every day complaining about Jay C. Ford and his disgusting cancel culture. This has been my approach for about 2 weeks now. Well the response I now get, the one that demonstrates how the CBF wishes to create a positive social bond with the community ? They have apparently taken me off their mailing list. To me this further demonstrates their stated desire to be a part of us is a load of crapola, and they continue to demonstrate that our opinion is so far below theirs, that we should just be ignored. Amazing to me, that people who are “come heres” somehow think that they have a calling to fix the place they have come to. To me, this is the height of arrogance and distain for the very people you mistakenly think you are helping. It shows that you somehow think you are smarter than the people who are from here, in some cases, have been here for generations. They are motivated by hate, at their core, hatred for the people and the place that welcomed them here. These “come heres” who only see the Shore as a project, needing their enlightened “leadership”, need to either embrace the Shore for what it is, or go back to the miserable place you are from, that spawned this attitude of superiority with which you are infected. Because people like this almost always come into a place, mess up what attracted them in the first place, then once they have ruined what was beautiful and unique, they move on to wreak havoc on another place that “needs” their “help.”
They have been allowed to do so up and down the Eastern Seaboard, but particularly the southern portion. The type of person that would have said ‘NO’ was labeled a bully. They used a campaign of sick children that killed themselves and their parents to sell that Bully hysteria to America….it worked. They have tried the same process with blacks and the second amendment to varied degrees of success. They also hitched the Political Correctness Cart to the Bully Wagon…furthering to silence the type of individual that would say ‘NO’ to the nonsense you describe. I have said it over and over…

These Marxists are certainly following the standard Marxist playbook which directs them, after conquering the cities, to go out into the rural ares of a country to spread the word of Marx. Watching how so many big city politicians, policemen and police chiefs, National Guardsmen, etc., got down on their knees to genuflect before BLM (Burn Loot Murder) and Antifa after their cities were vandalized, looted and burned, and after hundreds of corporations showered half a billion dollars in donations to Burn Loot Murder, I can see that the “Red Army” has advanced on the countryside. The cities have surrendered and fallen into their laps, and the rural areas are next.
