  1. I fully support the concerns regarding nurses working extensive overtime hours. It poses challenges for both their mental and physical well-being. I deeply appreciate the nurses who take on extra shifts, but I also urge each nurse to prioritize their own health. Consider your well-being first. It’s perfectly acceptable to decline overtime requests. Do not overextend yourself, especially when lives are in your hands. Think before committing. You have the right to say no. It’s alright to decline extra shifts for today, tonight, or even tomorrow. I have been a nurse for 46 years. I am speaking from experience. There came a point when I had to put my foot down and I said, “No.” You can do it to.
